Biocon Biologics' UK Marketing Authorisations

Biocon Biologics Ltd, a subsidiary of Biocon Ltd, has received marketing authorisations from the UK's MHRA for two biosimilars — Vevzuo and Evfraxy , both versions of Denosumab . These approvals follow similar authorisations from the European Commission, enabling commercialisation across the EU and EEA. Vevzuo is approved for preventing skeletal-related events in adults with advanced bone-involving cancers and for treating unresectable giant cell tumours of bone. Evfraxy is authorised for treating osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high fracture risk, as well as bone loss linked to hormone therapy in prostate cancer patients. This regulatory win marks a significant milestone, reinforcing Biocon’s growing presence in the global biologics market and expanding its footprint in critical therapeutic areas like oncology and bone health.
