Crompton Secures ₹4.24 Crore Solar Pump Contract Under PM-KUSUM in Madhya Pradesh

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited has won a ₹4.24 crore contract from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for the supply and installation of 159 off-grid DC & AC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) under the PM-KUSUM Scheme (Component-B), locally named PM Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana. The project includes solar pumps of 2 HP, 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP capacities, aimed at promoting solar-powered irrigation and sustainable farming. The systems will be deployed across the state and must be commissioned within 60 days of the work order. This order highlights Crompton’s growing presence in the renewable energy space, particularly in solar agri-solutions. Though the contract value is below the materiality threshold under SEBI norms, the company voluntarily disclosed it as part of its commitment to transparency and corporate governance. The win reinforces Crompton’s role in India’s clean energy transition and its ability to secure government-backed renewable projects, positioning it well in the expanding rural solar market.
