Godrej Consumer Products' Q1 Update and Brokerage Outlook

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) saw its stock rise over 4% following a strong pre-quarter update for Q1 FY26, with both Morgan Stanley and Macquarie acknowledging robust top-line growth led by the home care segment. Morgan Stanley remained optimistic, highlighting double-digit revenue growth, 7% organic growth in Q4 FY25, and high-single-digit volume expansion, particularly excluding soaps. It raised its target price to ₹1,431, citing strong performance and future growth potential. Macquarie, while noting mid-single-digit volume growth and double-digit home care sales, expressed caution over margin compression, expecting Ebitda margins to remain below the company’s usual 24–27% range. It maintained a neutral stance with a lower target price of ₹1,200. The stock hit an intraday high of ₹1,264, trading at ₹1,242 as of early morning, with a relative strength index of 52.4 and elevated trading volumes. Analysts remain largely positive, with 29 out of 38 recommending a 'buy', and the 12-month consensus target stands at ₹1,369, implying an upside of 10.6%. Looks like it is going to be another quarter of slowdown for FMCG Co's unless we see a rural uptick aided by good monsoons/harvest.
