HBL Engineering Reports 79% Profit Growth, Expands KAVACH Order Book

HBL Engineering reported a strong start to FY26, posting a 78.8% year-on-year rise in PAT to ₹143.26 crore on consolidated revenue of ₹601.7 crore, up from ₹520.1 crore in Q1 of the previous year. The robust performance comes amid a surge in order inflows for India’s indigenous KAVACH train protection system. The company recently secured two major KAVACH contracts from Indian Railways: A ₹132.95 crore order from South Central Railway for deploying KAVACH across the 446-km Vijayawada–Ballarshah section, covering 48 stations and 10 locomotives, to be completed in 18 months. A ₹30.67 crore contract for upgrading KAVACH from Version 3.2 to 4.0 on the 350-km Mudkhed–Manmad stretch, to be executed over 24 months. Additionally, HBL Power Systems, part of the HBL group, won a ₹54.12 crore KAVACH project from West Central Railway for the Kota division, covering 166 km and 18 stations, with a 700-day timeline. With these wins, HBL’s total order book stands at ₹4,029.05 crore.
