HBL Engineering Shares Rise 8% on Strong Loco TCAS Demand Update

HBL Engineering’s stock rose 8.28% to ₹826 (intraday high) on December 18, 2025, after the company disclosed a positive business update on its Loco TCAS (Train Collision Avoidance System) orders. The shares were trading at ₹816 by afternoon, up 7%, outperforming the Nifty 50. The surge followed an exchange filing revealing that of its 2024 order for 2,200 TCAS units, HBL successfully delivered and installed 1,659 units (75.4%) by the December 13 deadline. The remaining 541 units were deemed cancelled per contract terms. Notably, across all suppliers, only about 3,000 out of 10,000 tendered units have been delivered, with ~7,000 units cancelled. These are expected to be re-tendered, adding to 11,429 units already under new tenders, bringing the visible demand for FY26 to ~18,429 units—a figure HBL described as “unforeseen” earlier. This sharp upward revision in near-term demand outlook boosted investor sentiment, triggering strong buying activity—5 million shares worth ₹526 crore traded during the session. Market cap stood at ₹22,648 crore on NSE. While still below its ₹1,122 52-week high, the rally reflects renewed confidence in HBL’s growth trajectory in India’s expanding rail safety technology space.
