Jindal Stainless Plans ₹5,700 Crore Investment to Strengthen Global Leadership
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) has announced a strategic investment of ₹5,700 crore to enhance its production capacity and technological capabilities, reinforcing its position as a leading global stainless steel manufacturer. The move underscores confidence in rising domestic and international demand.
The investment will focus on innovation, including the development of specialty grades for high-growth sectors like nuclear, green hydrogen, automotive, and infrastructure, supported by a robust R&D division.
This expansion comes on the back of strong performance—sales volume up 15% to 2.37 million tonnes, revenue at ₹39,312 crore (+19%), and net worth growing 25.7% to ₹16,708 crore. The company maintains healthy financials with a Net Debt/EBITDA ratio below 1.5x.
JSL is also committed to sustainability, achieving 76,595 tCO2e carbon abatement, using 31,105 MWh of renewable energy, and incorporating 72% scrap in production, promoting a circular economy.
Aligned with government initiatives promoting stainless steel in railways and highways, JSL’s capex push positions it to capitalize on India’s infrastructure boom and growing global demand, solidifying its role in the nation’s manufacturing rise.
