Jio BlackRock NFO and Capital Raise

Jio Financial Services (JFSL) has launched a New Fund Offering (NFO) for index-based mutual funds tracking Nifty 50, Next 50, Midcap 150, Smallcap 250, and G-Sec indices, running from August 5 to 12. The move marks BlackRock’s return to India after exiting in 2018, now partnering with Reliance’s financial arm through Jio BlackRock—a digital-first, customer-centric platform aimed at expanding passive investing in India, where such products currently make up just 20% of the market. The collaboration combines BlackRock’s global expertise in investment and risk management with JFS’s tech strength and market reach, aiming to democratize access to financial solutions. In parallel, JFSL’s board earlier last month approved a ₹15,825 crore preferential issue of 50 crore warrants at ₹316.50 each—carrying a premium of ₹306.50—to promoter entities Sikka Ports & Terminals and Jamnagar Utilities and Power. The transaction strengthens capital base and supports growth ambitions.
