JSW Energy’s Q1 FY26 Performance and Outlook

JSW Energy reported a stellar Q1 FY26 performance, with EBITDA soaring 93% YoY to ₹3,057 crore and operating margin expanding to 54.28% (from 49.37% in Q1 FY25). Profit after tax rose 42% YoY to ₹743 crore, driven by strong contributions from organic renewable capacity additions, strategic acquisitions, and improved operational efficiency. Key drivers include the commissioning of the 350 MW second thermal unit at JSW Utkal in March, acquisition of KSK Mahanadi (1,800 MW) and O2 Power (April), and robust wind generation from assets that came online in FY25 but operated during peak season this year. The company’s hydro portfolio is also set to gain another 240 MW within days, boosting output during the monsoon. Joint MD & CEO Sharad Mahendra expressed confidence in sustaining high EBITDA and margins through FY26, citing a strong order pipeline of 10 GW under PPAs and ongoing efficiency improvements at acquired plants. With multiple growth levers in play, JSW Energy expects sustained momentum across the fiscal year.
