Reliance Enters Esports with Jio BLAST JV, Taps into Growing Gaming Market

, under the leadership of Mukesh Ambani, has officially entered the esports sector through a 50:50 joint venture between its wholly owned subsidiary RISE Worldwide and Denmark-based BLAST Esports. The new entity, Jio BLAST eSports , was formed on April 18, 2025, and will leverage BLAST’s global tournament expertise and Reliance’s technological infrastructure and market reach.
The joint venture aims to host large-scale esports events on the JioGames platform , offering services such as end-to-end tournament management, sponsor engagement, targeted marketing, and broadcasting. With India’s gaming and esports ecosystem growing rapidly, this partnership positions Reliance to capture a significant share of the emerging market.
By combining local market access with international best practices, Jio BLAST eSports is poised to become a key player in delivering high-quality competitive gaming experiences to Indian audiences and supporting the long-term growth of the esports industry in the country.
