Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Receives ₹31.42 Crore in Indemnity, Awaits Balance from SPCPL
Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has received ₹31.42 crore from promoter shareholder Mr. Khurshed Yazdi Daruvala as part of a larger indemnity claim of ₹174.54 crore arising from 2021 agreements with Reliance New Energy. The remaining ₹143.12 crore is pending from Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Pvt Ltd (SPCPL), with a due date of January 31, 2026.
In a letter dated November 28, 2025, SPCPL confirmed it will settle the full amount within 60 days, reaffirming its commitment to fulfill all obligations under the Share Subscription and Indemnity Agreements.
The receipt of a portion of the claim underscores SWREL’s proactive efforts to enforce contractual rights and strengthen its financial position. While the outcome hinges on timely payment by SPCPL, the clarity provided by their written commitment offers some assurance to investors.
The company has disclosed the update in compliance with SEBI norms, highlighting transparency in corporate governance. Stakeholders will closely watch for the resolution of the pending payment in early 2026.
