Tata Elxsi’s Q1 FY26 Performance
Tata Elxsi reported a 21.57% decline in profit at ₹144.37 crore for Q1 FY26, missing estimates of ₹163 crore. Revenue from operations also dipped by 3.71% to ₹892.10 crore compared to the same period last year. The EBITDA stood at ₹186.7 crore with a margin of 20.9%.
The company attributed the challenging performance to macroeconomic uncertainties and delays in R&D spending decisions across key markets. However, it highlighted resilience in its core transportation segment, which grew 3.7% QoQ and remains a major revenue contributor.
The Media & Communication (MCV) and Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS) segments faced declines due to transition investments and tariff impacts, respectively. CEO Manoj Raghavan expressed confidence in a turnaround, citing a strong pipeline and large deals that are expected to drive growth in the coming quarters.
Looking ahead, Tata Elxsi expects a recovery in profitability and margins as its two largest segments—transportation and MCV—are poised for growth from Q2 FY26 onward. This is broadly in line with the recent commentary of Tata Technologies and KPIT Tech. But one needs to be wary of any headwinds coming due to tariffs or order slowdown.
