Tata Motors - Opening up the wings to fly

TATAMOTORS
has outlined ambitious plans to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly evolving passenger vehicle (PV) market, aiming for a 16% market share by FY27 and 18–20% over the next few years. To achieve this, the company is investing Rs 33,000–35,000 crore between FY26 and FY30 on product actions, targeting 30 initiatives including seven new models. These launches are expected to bolster its competitive edge as it aims to ride the wave of rising PV demand, which is projected to reach 60 lakh units annually by 2030. The investment will focus on new model introductions, powertrain upgrades, and software-defined vehicles (SDVs), positioning Tata Motors at the forefront of emerging automotive technologies. By FY30, the company plans to introduce seven new nameplates and refresh 23 existing products. It also intends to expand its sales and service network to support growing volumes. In the electric vehicle (EV) segment, Tata Motors is betting big, with EVs expected to account for 20% of total PV volumes by FY27 and 30% by FY30. Key models like the ***** and ***** are set to drive growth, while the company works to improve the total cost of ownership for CNG fleet buyers and expand EV charging infrastructure in smaller towns. The automaker aims to achieve EBITDA breakeven in its EV business by FY26.
