Welspun Enterprises Forms Subsidiary for Pune-Shirur Highway Project

Welspun Enterprises has incorporated a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Welspun Pune Shirur Projects Limited, on May 9, 2026, with an initial paid-up capital of ₹1 lakh (10,000 equity shares). The entity is established as a dedicated special purpose vehicle (SPV) to execute a 6-lane partially elevated highway project on NH-753F in Maharashtra. Project Scope: Route: Pune to Shirur stretch (Km 10+600 to Km 64+000) Length: ~53.40 km design length Model: DFBOT (Toll) — Design, Finance, Build, Operate, Transfer Status: Pre-operational; mobilization to follow Strategic Significance: Portfolio Expansion: Adds a significant highway EPC + O&M asset to Welspun's infrastructure pipeline, reinforcing its focus on transportation corridors. Revenue Visibility: The DFBOT model ensures long-term annuity-style cash flows post-construction, complementing the company's hybrid annuity and HAM portfolio. Regional Presence: Strengthens Welspun's footprint in Maharashtra, a high-growth infrastructure market with robust state and central government capex. Outlook: With the SPV now in place, Welspun is expected to fast-track financial closure, land acquisition support, and construction mobilization. Successful execution of this ~53 km elevated corridor could enhance the company's credibility for similar complex highway tenders under Bharatmala and state initiatives.
