Wipro Acquires Harman’s DTS Business for $375 Million to Boost Digital & ER&D Capabilities
IT major Wipro has announced the acquisition of Harman’s Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business, a unit of Samsung, for $375 million (₹3,260 crore). The deal, expected to close by December 31, is subject to regulatory approvals and will bring over 5,600 DTS employees, including leadership, across the Americas, Europe, and Asia into Wipro.
DTS specializes in AI-native platforms, connected products, domain-led design, and autonomous agent frameworks, with a strong focus on engineering-led digital transformation. In 2024, DTS generated $314.5 million in revenue, 85% from services. The acquisition will enhance Wipro’s Engineering, Research & Development (ER&D) offerings and accelerate large-scale digital innovation for clients.
Wipro CEO Srini Pallia called it a pivotal step in the company’s transformation journey, strengthening its global footprint and ability to deliver agile, scalable solutions. DTS will become part of Wipro’s engineering business line.
As part of the deal, Wipro has entered a multi-year strategic agreement with Harman and Samsung to collaborate on AI-first technologies. Harman will now focus on automotive electronics and audio innovation, while DTS leverages Wipro’s scale to expand client reach.
The acquisition underscores Wipro’s strategy to bolster high-value digital services and reinforce its position as a leading global transformation partner.
