NSE Ltd Q2FY27 Result Fundamental Research Outlook

NSE Ltd reported a 23% YoY increase in consolidated net profit to ₹2,578 crore in Q2FY27, compared with ₹2,098.5 crore in Q2FY26. However, net profit declined 17.38% QoQ. Revenue from operations grew 10.6% YoY to ₹4,066.8 crore but declined nearly 10.8% sequentially, primarily due to a moderation in transaction charges. Transaction charge revenue stood at ₹3,035 crore, down 16% QoQ, although it remained higher than ₹2,789 crore reported last year. Meanwhile, listing services income nearly doubled sequentially to ₹150 crore, supported by increased activity in other revenue segments. Going forward, NSE expects cash market participation to improve, supported by upcoming Closing Auction Session (CAS) changes from December 7 and potential SEBI reforms in securities lending and borrowing. The exchange is also awaiting RBI approval for its corporate bond index and plans to expand colocation infrastructure. Additionally, the board approved divestment of up to 40% stake in National Coal Exchange of India. Overall, strong annual earnings growth, regulatory-led product expansion and infrastructure investments remain positive long-term growth drivers, although sequential weakness in transaction revenue warrants monitoring.
