TCS declares Rs 12 dividend, record date October 14

TCS
Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) declared a second interim dividend of ₹12 per share. The record date is October 14, 2026, and payment is on October 30, 2026. Face value is ₹1. With T+1 settlement, you need to own the shares by October 13 to be eligible. The first interim dividend this year was ₹12 in July, so FY27 interim dividends are ₹24 per share so far. The stock closed at ₹2,077 on October 8, before the results. At that price, ₹12 is a 0.58% payout. The 52-week range is ₹1,976.80 to ₹3,350. The dividend per share rose 9.1%, from ₹11 a year ago to ₹12. Q2 net profit rose 14.9%. So the payout is growing slower than profit. The stock is about 38% below its 52-week high as of the October 8 close. The dividend did not fall with it. That is a small sign of board confidence, not a large one. ₹12 is only 0.58% of the price. On October 14, the stock goes ex-dividend. All else equal, it should open about ₹12 lower. That is not a loss. The cash moves from the company to you. The next test is January 2027. If the Q3 interim dividend is ₹12 or higher, I read the dividend as holding up. A cut below ₹12 would change my view. My stance: neutral. The dividend is steady and rising slowly, but it is 0.58% of the price and does not decide my view on the stock. I am watching the October 14 ex-date and the Q3 interim amount.
