's producing subsidiaries were currently holding 115 million tonnes (MT) of coal at pitheads, and expected to rise further by the close of the fiscal year. Power plants require significantly higher quantities of coal during the summer season as electricity demand surges across the country. Rising temperatures lead to increased use of air conditioners, coolers, refrigerators and irrigation pumps, pushing peak power consumption to annual highs. Trading at an attrative P/E of 8.74, the company has been paying a high dividend yield of 6.34%, making it an attractive investment option for capital growth and dividend yield.
