COCHIN SHIPYARD TO BUILD Rs 1,570 CRORE SHIP REPAIR FACILITY IN GUJARAT

The Government of India has approved the development of a state-of-the-art ship repair facility at Vadinar in Gujarat which will jointly be developed by

and Deendayal Port Authority. This project marks a significant expansion of India’s maritime infrastructure and aims to reduce dependence on foreign shipyards for large vessel repairs. The total investment of Rs 1,570 crore will be divided between the two parties as follows - (Rs 920 crore) and Deendayal Port Authority (Rs 650 crore). The facility is expected to be completed within 36 months from the start of execution. is a government owned company that is engaged in the construction and repairs of all types of vessels including periodic upgradation and life extension of ships. It has been maintaining a healthy dividend payout of 43% thereby making it a preferred investment for regular income.
