CONTAINER MANUFACTURING PROMOTION SCHEME OF Rs 10,350 CRORE NEARS APPROVAL
Consultations for the government-backed Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme has been completed and is now near to it's final approval stage. The proposal is now likely to be taken up by the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) for approval in the near term. India currently depends heavily on imports, especially from China. This scheme will aim to reduce the import dependancy by offering financial support to local manufacturers. The Ministry of Shipping has submitted a proposal worth Rs 10,350 crore with a validity period of 13 years.
