GOVERNMENT PUSHES THE USE OF NANO DAP IN ORDER TO CUT IMPORT DEPENDENCY OF FERTILIZER
The Department of Fertilizers, under the Government of India, is promoting the use of innovative fertilizers such as Nano Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) ir order to reduce the import dependency of fertilizers and enhance nutrient use efficiency in agriculture. This initiative will promote the adoption of Nano DAP across all 15 agro-climatic zones of the country. Nano fertilizers, including Nano Urea, are being made available at Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendras (PMKSKs) and have been included in the monthly supply plan issued by the DoF.
In October 2021, China amended its export catalogue, requiring additional inspection for fertilizer-related items, including DAP. India’s broader strategy aims to mitigate such external dependencies by promoting innovative, nutrient-efficient fertilizers
