HINDUSTAN ZINC PLANS Rs 12000 CRORE CAPEX TO DOUBLE OUTPUT

HINDZINC
has announced the first phase of it's plan to double it's metal production capacity. The company has approved an investment of Rs 12,000 crore to boost it's integrated refined metal capacity by 250 KTPA (kilotonnes per annum) along with an increase in matching mining and milling capabilities across its operations It is expected that India’s zinc demand will double over the next decade mainly due to increasing infrastructure needs and steel production. This expansion aligns with that growth aiming to raise the company's total metal production capacity to over 2000 KTPA and silver output to 1500 tonnes in the coming five years HZL will set up the new integrated smelter in Debari (Udaipur) and this development will be supported by expanded mining activities at other locations. The investment comes in line with a global shortage of zinc thereby positioning the company to tap into both domestic and international opportunities
