INDIA TO ADD RECORD 43GW RENEWABLE ENERGY CAPACITY IN 2025
India has added 30 gigawatt (Gw) renewable energy generation capacity so far this calendar year and the number is likely to touch 43 Gw by the end of this year. Based on this progress and the multiple steps taken to resolve issues like transmission constraints, the government is hopeful of meeting the larger target of achieving 500 Gw of installed renewable energy generation capacity by 2030.
The government has also taken steps to jack up the accuracy of weather forecasting systems to improve the performance of renewable energy projects. The centre has also been trying to resolve the issues around delays in signing power sale agreements (PSAs).
