INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK IN THE NEWS AFTER NET PROFIT CROSSES Rs 5000-CRORE MARK
Public sector bank IOB recorded it's highest ever consolidated net profit at Rs 5,208 crore for the year ended Mar26, up 56% compared to the corresponding financial year. The bank's net profit growth was supported by a decline in provisioning requirements as slippages reduced during the quarter, credit growth, and was also aided by the bank’s shift to the new tax regime after deferred tax adjustments over the last few years.
Having a market cap of Rs 66,666 crore, the bank has delivered good profit growth of 44% CAGR over last 5 years. The stock price has seen multiple resistance at Rs 40 per share, and any breakout above this price could indicate a bullish momentum in the stock.
