INDIAN RAILWAYS TO IMPLEMENT KAVACH SYSTEM ON 14 NEW ROUTES
In an effort to prevent train collision incidents, the Indian Railways has announced the implementation of the advanced 'Kavach' system along 14 routes which spans 102 km at a budget of Rs 309 crore. The implementation of Kavach technology is scheduled to commence shortly, with the aim of completing the project by end 2025.
The 'Kavach' is an Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system designed to prevent collisions by regulating prescribed speeds and providing real-time alerts to train operators. This system facilitates not only speed management but also enhances operational safety for trains during dense fog conditions or technical failures.
