INDIAN RAILWAYS TO LAUNCH SIX NEW VANDE BHARAT TRAINS, IRCTC TO BENEFIT
Indian Railways is set to introduce 6 more Vande Bharat Express train services over its vast network. These new semi-high-speed trains will further enhance travel experience and improve connectivity. Currently, 144 Vande Bharat Express train services are operational across the country. These new trains are likely to be flagged off on August 10. The overall occupancy of Vande Bharat Express trains in FY25 was 102%, however in the ongoing fiscal year FY26, the passenger occupancy of these new age trains are 105% till date.
Currently, Vande Bharat Express trains are running in three different variants (8-coach, 16-coach, and 20-coach), and offers two types of seating arrangements (Chair Car and Executive Chair Car). Some of the special features of these train services are higher speed of upto 180 kmph, jerk-free couplers, better ride comfort, CCTVs in all coaches, emergency alarm push buttons on all coaches, and fitted with KAVACH safety systems.
