M&M OVERTAKES HYUNDAI TO BECOME THE SECOND LARGEST AUTOMAKER IN DOMESTIC Q1FY26 SALES

India to become the second-largest automaker in the domestic market.

clocked it's sales to 152,067 units in Q1 of FY26 as against 124,248 in the same period last year, registering a 22% year-on-year increase in sales. This has made it the 2nd largest passenger vehicle selling company in India. In contrast,
HYUNDAI
India saw a sales of 132,259 units as against 149,455 units in the same period last year, a decline of 11.5% year-on-year, ranking it at the 3rd spot. Notably,
TATAMOTORS
has slipped to the 4th spot after it's sales saw a decline of 9.6% year-on-year. The company's sales recorded 129,369 units as against 143,232 units in the same period last year Meanwhile,
MARUTI
continues to lead the passenger vehicle segment despite a 6% year-on-year decline in the first quarter of FY26. The company sold 393,572 units in the domestic market as against 419,114 units sold during the same period last year
