MARUTI SUZUKI FINALLY GOES ELECTRIC, LAUNCHES IT'S FIRST EV MODEL

MARUTI
, India's largest carmaker, has officially unveiled its first-ever electric vehicle (EV) called the e-Vitara. Priced between Rs 17-22 lakh, the car offers a certified range of 543 km on one charge and comes with a 5-star safety rating. Although four-wheelers EVs still form just about 5% of the total four-wheeler sales in the market, it is still showing increasing growth with most of it's rivals already out there with a vast range of models. Moreover, the company is set to install 2,000 charging points of Maruti alone across some 1,100 towns and cities as well as 1,500 EV-ready workshops with trained personnel across Maruti’s service network. The management is confident of becoming the market leader in the EV segment.
