RAILWAY SECTOR STOCK EXPANDING IT'S FOOTSTEPS IN THE EV SECTOR

Based in Kolkata,

JWL
is primarily involved in the business of manufacturing metal fabrication comprising load bodies for commercial vehicles, rail freight wagons, and components. The company has also forayed into the business of Electric Vehicles (EV) in India, having already launched it's first vehicle and in the pipeline to launch two other vehicles by end of this year. The company will also launch it's first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) this month, available in 10-foot and 20-foot formats, citing strong demand in the segment. Moreover,
JWL
is moving ahead with its Rs 2,500 crore capex plan, including a major project with export potential to the European Union. The Aurangabad wheel facility is expected to generate Rs 600 crore in revenue this year, rising to Rs 2,000 crore next year, anticipating strong order inflows from Indian Railways. With a market capitalization of Rs 13,338 crore, the stock price is currently trading at Rs 314 per share, down by 58% from it's all time high price of Rs 745. The company showed a poor Q1FY26 performance with sales dropping to Rs 411 crore and Net Profit down to Rs 33 crore, a decline of 54% and 63% respectively from the same quarter last year. It would be worth to see if the EV business can lift the company's sales and profit numbers in the coming quarters.
