STOCKS THAT COULD GAIN FROM GOVERNMENT'S ELECTRIFICATION PUSH

India's economy and industrialization is rapidly growing, and with this growth comes a strong demand for electricity. In fact the per capita electricity consumption has hit 1395 kWh in FY24 from major drivers like heavy industries, household electrification, and EVs. Following this trend, a massive transformation is required to electrify the nation’s power sector, due to which power stocks present a major investment window for 2026-27. Government incentives, like the PLI scheme, aim to boost the manufacturing of solar module and battery cells. Further, the Indian Budget of 2024 hiked power sector funding by 50% with focus on green hydrogen, solar power, and grid corridors. The PME-DRIVE scheme got Rs. 4,000 crore for EVs in 2025-26. Government companies like

POWERGRID
and
NTPC
are upgrading nationwide infrastructure with mega capex plans. At the same time, private companies like
TATAPOWER
,
ADANIGREEN
, and
JSWENERGY
are rapidly scaling up their green portfolios to allign with India’s 500 GW non-fossil fuel goal by 2030. The focus will be on solar, wind, and green hydrogen, backed by strong order books and project pipelines.
