TELECOM GIANT BHARTI AIRTEL TO INVEST Rs 200 BILLION IN IT'S NBFC UNIT

India’s second-largest mobile carrier by number of users,

BHARTIARTL
shares have been in the news after the company said it will invest Rs 200 billion in it's financial arm over the next few years as it steps up it's push into digital lending. The company has recently received a non-banking financial company (NBFC) licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This expansion comes as competition intensifies in India’s non-bank lending sector, where conglomerates such as
JIOFIN
and established players like
BAJFINANCE
are scaling up retail credit operations. The telecom major will contribute 70% of the Rs 200 billion capital, with key shareholder Bharti Enterprises providing the remaining. FIIs have been continously increasing their stake in the company, from 24.27% as of Dec24 to 28.75% as of Dec25, thereby showing confidence in the company.
