THREE STOCKS THAT CAN BENEFIT FROM INDIA'S 20 LAKH CRORE PUSH ON NUCLEAR ENERGY MISSION
The power sector in India is now entering a new stage as the government has launched an Ambitious Nuclear Energy Mission with the aim of raising the installed nuclear capacity from the current level of about 8.8 GW to 100 GW by the year 2047. To achieve this objective, investments amounting to nearly Rs 20 lakh crore will be needed in connection with reactor construction, equipment manufacturing, transmission infrastructure, and the long-term operation of the plants.
The shift towards nuclear energy might develop into an investment theme spanning several decades since constructing an extra 90 GW of nuclear capacity will require continuous and long-term capital to be directed towards heavy engineering, precision manufacturing, control systems, and the specialised EPC construction abilities possessed by only a small number of listed Indian companies that have the necessary technical record and regulatory approvals.
