VIKRAM SOLAR TO SET UP Rs 15,037 CRORE BATTERY SYSTEMS FACILITY IN TAMIL NADU

VIKRAMSOLR
has inked a Rs 15,037-crore agreement with the Tamil Nadu government to build a massive battery energy storage systems (BESS) manufacturing plant in Tirunelveli, boosting its clean energy footprint. The unit is expected to generate 2,670 jobs. The facility, spread across nearly 600,000 square feet, is designed to eventually house module, cell, wafer and ingot production as part of the company’s push towards a fully vertically integrated manufacturing base. The battery storage plant extends that strategy into energy storage. On the financial side, the company has reported a sales of Rs 4,803 crore for FY26, up by 40% from the previous year. Similarly, it has reported a profit after tax of Rs 469 crore, up by 240% from the previous year. With such new agreements in place, the company's sales and profits are expected to grow in the coming years.
