Cipla Slips as USFDA Flags Partner Plant; LIC Raises Stake
Shares of
CIPLA
declined up to 2.4% in morning trade after the US Food and Drug Administration classified the cGMP inspection at Pharmathen International S.A.’s Rodopi, Greece facility as Official Action Indicated (OAI). The plant is a supply partner for Lanreotide injection to Cipla USA Inc, raising near-term regulatory concerns around supplies.
However, in a parallel development, Life Insurance Corporation of India increased its stake in the company by 2.036% between November 27, 2025 and February 2, 2026, taking its total holding to 9.091%. While regulatory overhang weighed on sentiment, LIC’s increased exposure signals continued institutional confidence in the business.
