Exide Industries Commissions Phase-I of 6 GWh Lithium Plant

Exide Industries has announced the commissioning of Phase-I of its lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility through its material subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Ltd. The facility, located at Devanahalli in Bengaluru, has an initial capacity of 6 GWh and was commissioned on September 23. The plant is designed to manufacture advanced lithium-ion cells across multiple chemistries and form factors. The company said the facility will cater to applications across electric mobility as well as energy-storage systems. The commissioning marks a major operational milestone in Exide’s expansion into lithium-ion cell manufacturing, alongside its established lead-acid battery business.
