GRSE Approves ₹2,896 Cr. Investment for Greenfield Shipyard

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has approved a capital budgetary outlay of ₹2,896 crore for setting up a new greenfield shipyard at Raichak in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. The proposed facility is part of GRSE’s broader capacity-expansion strategy and is expected to strengthen its ability to undertake both naval and commercial shipbuilding projects. The company said the new shipyard will help enhance overall construction capacity and provide additional infrastructure for future orders. GRSE has been expanding its shipbuilding capabilities amid rising demand for vessels from both the defence and commercial maritime sectors. The project represents a major planned investment by the company and is expected to add new capacity to its existing shipbuilding infrastructure. GRSE’s board had earlier outlined plans to expand capacity as it seeks to handle larger and more complex projects. The latest approval adds another significant milestone to that expansion programme and places the company among the key stocks in focus in Tuesday’s trading session.
