Indian Markets End Lower for Fourth Straight Session; IT Stocks Shine

Indian equity markets extended their losing streak on Monday, with major benchmark indices closing in the red for the fourth consecutive session. Market sentiment remained subdued amid broad-based selling pressure across sectors. Sectoral performance was mixed, with the NIFTY IT Index emerging as the standout performer, surging more than 2.5% on strong buying interest in technology stocks. In contrast, the NIFTY FMCG Index was among the worst-performing sectors, declining over 2%. $DABUR India led the FMCG losses, falling more than 4% during the session. Among IT stocks, Persistent Systems was one of the top gainers, supporting the sector's strong upward momentum. Disclaimer: Investments in securities are subject to market risk.
