Mazagon Dock Signs MoU for Major Shipyard Project in A.P

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Park in Andhra Pradesh to explore the development of a large shipbuilding facility in the state. The proposed project is planned with an annual shipbuilding capacity of at least 1.2 million Gross Tonnage. The facility is intended to support construction and related maritime activities and could add to India’s shipbuilding capacity over the longer term. The MoU is part of Mazagon Dock’s efforts to expand its manufacturing and shipbuilding footprint beyond its existing facilities. The company is one of India’s major defence shipbuilders and is also pursuing opportunities in commercial and large-scale maritime infrastructure. The proposed Andhra Pradesh project is subject to further evaluation, approvals and agreements before implementation. The development was among the corporate announcements that brought Mazagon Dock into focus in the latest trading session.
