Tilaknagar Industries CFO Exits Amid Margin Pressure

Tilaknagar Industries shares closed at Rs 541 on Friday, down about 1.3%, after the liquor maker announced CFO Rajesh Choudhary's resignation, a change landing just as the company works through the costly integration of its biggest acquisition in years. Choudhary, CFO since January, is leaving to pursue other opportunities after roughly eight months. Anil Singal, who brings over 26 years in alcoholic beverage finance and was most recently CFO at Jagatjit Industries, steps in to lead finance. The change comes right after a Q1 FY27 print showing consolidated revenue crossing Rs 1,000 crore for the first time, up 155.66% year on year, even as net profit fell 64.3% to Rs 31.6 crore, tied mainly to Imperial Blue integration costs and glass packaging inflation. The revenue jump reflects scale added by folding in the Imperial Blue brand portfolio, a transformational deal for the company, but the steep profit decline shows that scale isn't yet translating into proportionate earnings while integration costs run through the books. A CFO transition during this stretch, alongside bolt-on bets like a tequila joint venture and a stake increase in a cocktail mixer brand, puts extra scrutiny on financial discipline when the market wants continuity and cost control. The stock has ranged between Rs 381.55 and Rs 607.80 over the past 52 weeks, with a market cap near Rs 13,411 crore, trading well off its yearly high.
