5 Stocks to Exit F&O Segment After May 2025 Expiry – What It Means?
The NSE (National Stock Exchange) is removing 5 stocks from the Futures & Options (F&O) segment after the May 29, 2025 expiry. These stocks are: • MRF • Apollo Tyres • Escorts Kubota • Deepak Nitrite • Ramco Cements Why Are They Being Removed? This is due to SEBI's updated rules (from Aug 2024), which say that: ✅ A stock must have ₹30 crore average daily delivery (up from ₹10 crore) ✅ And a Market-wide Position Limit (MWPL) of ₹1,500 crore (up from ₹500 crore) If a stock fails to meet these for 3 months in a row, it will be out of the F&O segment. What Happens Now? • Last expiry for these stocks in F&O is May 29, 2025 • No new contracts will be introduced after that • You can still trade these stocks in the cash (equity) segment This change mainly affects F&O traders. If you hold positions in these stocks, make sure to: - Square off your positions before expiry - Avoid rolling over into June contracts (as they won’t exist).
