Adani Power to Build ₹26,482 Crore Mega Power Plant in Bihar with 25-Year Supply Deal

Adani Power has announced that it will build a huge new power plant in Bihar. • The plant will produce 2,400 MW of electricity – enough to light up millions of homes. • It will be set up in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur district at a cost of about $3 billion (₹26,482 crore). • Adani Power has signed a 25-year agreement with Bihar State Power Generation Company to supply electricity. • The company won the project by offering the lowest supply rate – ₹6.075 per unit (kWh). • The plant will be built in 3 units of 800 MW each and should be ready in about 5 years (60 months). • Coal supply for the plant is already arranged under the government’s SHAKTI policy. • The project will create jobs for 10,000–12,000 people during construction and around 3,000 permanent jobs after it starts running. • Adani Power is already India’s largest private thermal power producer, with a capacity of 18,110 MW. What does this mean for the stock? This is a long-term positive for Adani Power. Such a big project shows strong future growth and stable income for the company because of the 25-year supply agreement. However, the plant will take 5 years to finish, so the immediate effect on the stock price may be small. Investors may see this as a confidence boost, but the real financial benefits will come once the plant starts generating power. In short – this project adds to Adani Power’s strength and secures long-term earnings, which is good news for the stock in the long run.
