All you need to know about Axis Bank's results for Q4FY25
Profit & Income Profit: Axis Bank made Rs 7,118 crore in profit. That’s almost the same as last year (Rs 7,130 crore). This was better than expected (Rs 6,710 crore). Total income: Went up by 6% to Rs 38,022 crore compared to last year. How Did It Earn Money? Interest earned (mainly from loans) went up by 6.9% to Rs 31,242 crore. Income from investments jumped by 14.1%. Net Interest Income (NII) – which is money made from loans minus interest paid on deposits – rose 5.5% to Rs 13,811 crore. Expenses & Profits Operating expenses (running costs) increased by about 5.6%. Even with higher costs, operating profit still grew by 2% to Rs 10,752 crore. The bank had to keep Rs 1,359 crore aside for possible bad loans – this is called “provisions.” That’s 14% more than last year, but 37% lower than last quarter. Loan Quality (NPAs) Gross NPA (bad loans) fell to 1.28% from 1.43%. Net NPA also dropped to 0.33% from 0.35%. This means the bank is managing bad loans better. Full Year FY25 Highlights Total profit for the full year: Rs 26,373 crore (up 6.1%). Total income: Rs 1.47 lakh crore, EPS (Earnings per Share): Rs 85.28, Capital strength (CAR): Strong at 17.07%, Return on Assets (RoA): 1.74%. The bank will give a dividend of Re 1 per share for the year. Share price closed at Rs 1,207.10 on April 24. What This Means Axis Bank had a steady and healthy quarter. Better income from loans and investments, Fewer bad loans, Profit stayed strong despite higher costs. This shows the bank is growing carefully and steadily, a positive sign for investors and customers.
