Big Money Moves on 21st Aug: FII vs DII

On 21st Aug 2025, both domestic and foreign investors were active in the Indian stock market: DIIs (Domestic Institutional Investors): Bought shares worth ₹14,514.86 cr and sold ₹11,968.59 cr, making a net inflow of ₹2,546.27 cr. ➝ Indian institutions continued their strong support, adding fresh liquidity into the market. FIIs/FPIs (Foreign Institutional Investors): Bought ₹14,960.14 cr, sold ₹13,713.63 cr, leaving a net inflow of ₹1,246.51 cr. ➝ Foreign investors also turned net buyers, further boosting market sentiment. Monthly Trend (Aug so far): • DIIs have infused a massive ₹66,512.76 cr. • FIIs, despite today’s inflows, still show an overall outflow of ₹24,128.50 cr this month. In Short: Strong and consistent DII inflows are cushioning the market against heavy FII outflows. The domestic institutions’ conviction highlights sustained confidence in India’s growth story.
