On 22nd Aug 2025, both domestic and foreign investors showed heavy selling pressure in the Indian stock market: DIIs (Domestic Institutional Investors): Bought shares worth ₹10,106.92 cr and sold ₹10,436.17 cr, resulting in a net outflow of ₹329.25 cr. ➝ After a strong buying streak, Indian institutions finally turned net sellers. FIIs/FPIs (Foreign Institutional Investors): Bought ₹10,179.18 cr, sold ₹11,801.70 cr, leading to a sharp net outflow of ₹1,622.52 cr. ➝ Foreign investors continued their selling spree, dragging market sentiment lower. Monthly Trend (Aug so far): • DIIs: +₹66,183.51 cr (still strong net buyers) • FIIs: -₹25,751.02 cr (persistent outflows) In Short: While FIIs remain aggressive sellers, DIIs—after 30 straight sessions of buying—finally turned sellers, signalling profit booking. The overall market direction now hinges on whether domestic flows resume strongly or if FII selling pressure continues.
