Big Money Moves on 26th Aug: FII vs DII

On 26th Aug 2025, domestic and foreign investors showed contrasting stances in the Indian stock market: DIIs (Domestic Institutional Investors): Bought shares worth ₹22,000.77 cr and sold ₹14,940.40 cr, resulting in a strong net inflow of ₹7,060.37 cr. ➝ Domestic institutions continue to provide heavy support, pumping liquidity into the markets. FIIs/FPIs (Foreign Institutional Investors): Bought ₹44,146.80 cr, but sold ₹50,663.29 cr, leading to a sizeable net outflow of ₹6,516.49 cr. ➝ Foreign investors remained huge net sellers and reducing exposure. Monthly Trend (Aug so far): • DIIs have infused a robust ₹76,420.57 cr. • FIIs have pulled out ₹34,733.75 cr. Takeaway: Heavy DII buying is acting as a counterbalance to persistent FII outflows. This consistent domestic support reflects rising confidence of Indian institutions in the market’s resilience and long-term growth story.
