Coal India Q3 FY26 – Stable Revenue, Profit Declines
Coal India reported a mixed performance in the December 2025 quarter. Revenue remained almost flat year-on-year, but profitability declined sharply due to lower margins and earnings pressure. • Sales: 0% YoY at ₹417 crore (vs ₹416 crore in Dec 2024) • EBIDT: ↓ 65% YoY to ₹57.4 crore (vs ₹164 crore) • Net Profit: ↓ 49% YoY to ₹4,872 crore (vs ₹9,646 crore) • EPS: ↓ 49% YoY to ₹7.91 (vs ₹15.65) At a price of ₹419, market cap ₹2,58,433 crore, and PE 15.7, Coal India remains reasonably valued. However, the sharp fall in profits despite stable revenue suggests margin pressure and weaker earnings performance. Overall, the company’s core business remains stable, but improving profitability will be important for stronger future performance.
