Govt Restores RoDTEP Benefits for SEZs & EOUs from June 1 — Big Boost for Exporters.

Big News for Indian Exporters in SEZs & EOUs. Starting June 1, 2025, the government is restoring RoDTEP benefits for exports from: ✅ Special Economic Zones (SEZs) ✅ Export Oriented Units (EOUs) ✅ Advance Authorisation Holders What is RoDTEP? RoDTEP = Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products. It refunds hidden taxes & duties (like fuel, electricity, mandi tax, etc.) that exporters can’t claim back otherwise. This makes Indian products more competitive globally by ensuring zero tax on exports. - Earlier this year (from Feb 6, 2025), these benefits were stopped for SEZs and EOUs. 🔻 - Now, the decision is reversed, bringing big relief for exporters. ✅ Why is this important? • SEZs and EOUs contribute heavily to India’s value-added exports. • The export industry was demanding a level playing field. • This move will boost price competitiveness, export volumes, and help India gain more global market share. The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) welcomed this step, calling it critical support amid tough global conditions. FIEO also requested the govt to make the benefit effective from Feb 7, 2025, to avoid any benefit gap. In short: RoDTEP benefits are back for SEZs, EOUs & Advance Licence holders from June 1.
