KIMS to Invest ₹300 Cr to Set Up 300-Bed Super Specialty Hospital in Chennai – Shares in Focus

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has announced plans to set up a new super specialty hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, which will add around 300 beds with an investment of nearly ₹300 crore. The company has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Andhra Mahila Sabha for about 1.168 acres of land at Raja Annamalai Puram, Chennai. The project is expected to be completed in 36 months, and funding will come from a mix of bank loans and internal accruals. KIMS already operates a large hospital network with 8,800+ beds, and its capacity utilisation stands at about 51% as of H1FY26, leaving room for growth. Recently, its Bengaluru subsidiary also started a new 350-bed hospital, showing steady expansion. In the last session, the stock closed at ₹639.60, up 0.84%. The 52-week high is ₹798 and low is ₹474.55. Currently, the stock is about 20% below its high and nearly 35% above its low. With a market capitalisation of around ₹25,593 crore, this expansion supports KIMS’s long-term growth in the healthcare space.
