Market Closing Summary - 13 April, 2026

Rough start… but not a weak close. Markets opened with a sharp gap-down after crude spiked and ceasefire talks failed. But buyers stepped in from lower levels through the day. Still, indices ended in red. What stood out: • Selling at open was panic-driven • But dips were bought across the day • Defence and a few pockets even turned green This wasn’t one-sided weakness. Where pressure stayed: Auto, consumption, oil & gas - basically sectors sensitive to inflation + crude Macro layer: • Crude back above $100 after geopolitical tensions • Rupee weak • Yields inching higher So the stress is still real, not gone. Structure view: Gap-down + intraday recovery = demand exists at lower levels But failure to close green also tells you: supply is still active on rise This was not a breakdown. It was a reaction to macro shock + absorption during the day Now market is stuck between: • Buyers on dips • Sellers on rallies Whichever side gives up first decides the next move.
