Bank Nifty gained 0.82%, while midcaps surged 2.02%, clearly outperforming, a sign of improving risk appetite beyond large caps. Media (+3.35%), internet (+3.18%), IT (+2.78%) and realty (+2.75%) led the rally, along with strength in digital, tourism and logistics, reflecting strong momentum across growth and cyclical themes. On the flip side, metals and FMCG remained largely flat, showing limited participation from these pockets. Structurally, the market continues to show strength after recent volatility, with broader markets leading the move, often a sign of improving sentiment. Meanwhile, USD/INR closed at all time high 92.63, which could be a variable to watch going forward. Overall, the tone remains positive, but sustainability will depend on global cues and follow-through buying in the next session.
