NTPC’s Big Plans: Green Energy, Nuclear Power & Massive Investments Ahead.

NTPC, India’s largest power company, is going full throttle on future growth — with big investments, clean energy goals, and a bold nuclear push. Huge Investment Plans (Capex): • In FY25, NTPC’s total group investment (capex) was ₹44,636 crore — up from ₹35,385 crore in FY24. • Over the next 3 years, NTPC plans to invest ₹87,661 crore, averaging ₹29,223 crore per year. • NTPC Green Energy alone spent ₹12,914 crore in FY25 (up from ₹8,996 crore last year). What's Under Construction? • 33.7 GW of projects are being built, including: - 16.9 GW coal - 2.2 GW hydro - 14.6 GW renewables • Pumped Storage Projects (PSP): 20 GW planned, with the first 1,000 MW ready by FY26. Regulated Equity Grows: • Standalone equity rose to ₹90,902 crore (from ₹87,713 crore). • Consolidated equity is now ₹1,08,791 crore. Big Bet on Nuclear: • NTPC wants to develop 30 GW of nuclear capacity by 2047. • Aiming to support India’s net-zero target by 2070. • Key projects: - Mahi Banswara (4 x 700 MW) - New company: NTPC Parmanu Urja Nigam Ltd to explore advanced nuclear tech (like small modular reactors). Strategic Moves: • 28 nuclear project sites identified. • MoUs signed with Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. NTPC’s Finance Director said: “These long-life, stable energy projects — from renewables to nuclear — will power India's growth and clean energy goals for decades.” In short: NTPC is charging ahead — going greener, investing more, and backing nuclear to secure India’s energy future.
